This house sits across the bridge from the Post Office. In the old image, the
wool mill can be seen, as well as Woodlea.

Left: A view looking up the River Ayr, from the grounds at
the Village Hall, towards Beechgrove. The view nowadays has changed somewhat,
as new houses have been built in the small field opposite.
Right: Another view of the same field, just below Damhead,
taken in 1982. The gentleman walking the dog is John Tavern, who had the Sorn
Inn back in those days.
