CROSSHANDS |
Left:
Crosshands, with the school house on the right hand side, and the
little building in the front left, was a pub. It is thought it was
once called The Danfoss Inn, and would possibly have been open until
as late as the1930s. (Info from Hughy Hodge).
I have never been yet able to verify this. Right: Looking towards Crosshands, the road is a little different to that nowadays. |
Left:
The sawmill, near Crosshands, used when the woods nearby were being
harvested. Terry Harrison reports that the trees were felled by the
Canadian military. Right: Woodcutters near Crosshands, with Skeoch Hill in the Background. |
