RIVER AYR |
=========================================
THE RIVER AYR WINTER 2009 / 2010 |
After the initial thick snowfall just before Christmas 2009, there was a cold snap immediately following. The River Ayr was frozen and bearing easily for the first time in a few years. The river
was certainly frozen solid between Christmas and New Year in the mid
winter of 1995. It was also bearing in 2001, though not to the extent
of the 1995, or last couple of winters. There are good photographs
of the ice in 1981 available as well. |
