An image discovered in 2002 of the bottom of The Coogate, showing the sandstone block on the site of the Armour residence. On the left, a low thatched house, which also belonged to the Armour family at one time. (Can't find reference for statement about low thatched house at present) The gable of The Cooperative is also seen, with what looks like the current day plaque, but is more likely an advertising banner, because in those days the plaque was on the chimney of the building. The sign on the end of the Armour building says hostelry but the rest is almost impossible to read. It may be just a sign pointing towards Poosie Nansie's.
