The building which is made up of small single storey houses in the previous plate, can be seen here as "W.F. Blair", the baker's" shop. Blair was responsible not only for the building work, but also for the booklet "An Octogenarian's Reminiscences " which is available elsewhere on this web site. This was written in the 1920's when as stared in the title, the author was in his 80's. The archway into the Abbey Church can be seen on the extreme left of the photo. Today, the hardware shop is on this site, and beyone is part of R&R Sports, for years The Jean Armour building and Geordie's video shop.
