A view looking from the current day Loudoun Street Car Park, looking towards Poosie Nansies. The date is somewhere pre dating the building of the Abbey Kirk, assuming the Archway into the Kirk was built at the same time. The entrance to Mauchline Castle and Gavin Hamilton's House can be seen on the left. Beyond that is a large double storey sandstone block, which was demolished to make way for the Coop in years gone by. The present day Chinese and off sales are in the old Coop building. The shop on the far right is Tam Learmont the baker's. This was for many years until 2003, the printers shop. The large double storey block to the left of Learmont's is the present day Cooperative. In the not too distant past it was always known as Jamieson's the grocer. Beyond that are the single storey dwelling houses which later were converted to a double storey, and became Blair the Baker's, and the present day hardware shop etc. This image was so clear that a few samples have been taken from the centre of the image.
