From the JTG collection, this rare image of the archway in the snow. The Place can be seen to the right of the photo. The house at the other side of the road on the extreme right still stands at Mauchline Cross. The Ballochmyle Inn (still standing) is opposite the old archway. Not really much to go on date wise in this one, but most of the images taken by John Taylor Gibb were from the very early 1900s or the late 1800s.
