Andrew Thomson was from Blackbriggs. Geordie Thomson lived in Sorn for many years, and used to be seen walking the streets with Tam Mair and Midge etc.

Louis Robertson
Hugh Sloan was from Blairmulloch. Louis Somervell, of 74th Highlanders, was killed in 1882, in Egypt at Tel-El Kebir. He was the fifthg son of Graham Somervell of Sorn Castle. See memorial window on Sorn Church. Louis Robertson was a champion wrestler, and emigrated to New Zealand. He was the son of Edward Robertson, the Schoolmaster.

Left: An unidentified location, but looking somewhat familiar. Is that Blacksidend in the background? Anyone recognise this. It looks like 1st world war soldiers. The image on the right showed up from the Baird collection, and looks like it is from a similar time and place.
