This bakers paper bag, came from GIRDWOOD The Baker's.

The van used to come around Sorn in the 60's and 70's. This was found in my own collection of old 78rpm records, being converted from a bag that maybe once held three rolls, or some tattie scones, to a record sleeve.

I seem to remember that a Girdwood van also came round Stevenston at that time, where my "other" granny came from.

"Wullie The Baker" eventually took over the run, and his van is seen here with the Nimble sign. It was the kind of van you walked in to from the back to be served.

There are less and less of these style of vans around nowadays, no doubt caused by the ridiculous tax and over head fees imposed on them by the various greedy but gormless governments.
