Photo Burns House Museum
A view looking from the foot of what is now Loudoun Street, towards the kirk. This image was badly damaged, but worth noting the lack of one of the spires of the kirk. The large block next to the paper shop at the corner of Barskimming road is at this stage not built, and the small low thatched buildings can be seen on the site. The large gable beyond is more difficult to determine. It is more like the building beyond the present day post office, but the image has it's limitations unfortunately.
