Thought to be the most important find of recent years, the only photograph available to date of the well documented Mauchline Boxworks Factory, home to the phrase Mauchline Ware. This image was found in Willie Lyle's collection of glass negatives and processed in late 2002. The view is taken from the roof of Mauchline Parish Church, and dates back to the late 1800s. More accurate at this stage I can not be.

Burnbrae House behind/ left of the Town Hall is still the older thatched building, see slideshow page 197. The current large double storey sandstone building dates from 1899. The village ends at what is today the present day fire station.
