I have thought for a while that the Rev Wilson Baird was somehow deserving of a page on this web site to document his life. He turned up all over the history of Mauchline during his time in the village, where he was a minister for over 40 years, and even built a new church.

In 2017, a scrap book was loaned to us from Jennifer Alexander via Jimmy Davidson which was in the possession of the late Dr Rawson of Mauchline.

This would seem to have been a scrapbook compiled by Wilson Baird. It makes for very interesting reading. An index may appear here sometime, but for now, the pdf is available to browse through.

The file is best viewed with adobe pdf reader, and do remember file sizes were kept large to preserve quality. These old newspapers seemed to have very small text. (Or else I wasn't wearing the old reading specs!!)
