FAMILY PHOTOS - MAUCHLINE SLIDESHOW
NETHERPLACE is a name still associated with the the Mauchline of today. The Mansion house may have been taken down in the 1960's, but the name remains in the streets around where Netherplace once stood. Thanks to Jimmy Davidson, we have been in touch with Stroma Leith who has many family photos of Netherplace, including some early aerial shots. Stroma's family, Hamilton-Campbell were the last to live in Netherplace. Thanks to Stroma, her family will never forget their Mauchline connections, and will always be remembered here on these web pages. Some snapshots of the house are given below courtesy of Stroma. There is also a pdf file of the Speech made by Stroma at the opening of The Loudoun Spoot, in 2000. Mauchline was very busy that day, with guests including Fred Dibnah. Stroma's speech is a short history in her own words, of Netherplace.
