This is a sample of one of the previous images, in which we focus on the large double storey block between the Parish Kirk wall and the wall of Mauchline Castle. slideshow037.html The large block on the left seemed to be home at one time to shops, judging by the signs above the doorway. In 2011 there is a Chinese and a General Store on this site, but in days gone by, the building was home to Mauchline Cooperative. This image is a sample taken from an image in a photograph album, donated to the Burns House Museum in 1999 by Alistair Milne of Innerleithen. The photographer was unknown, until many of the images began to match up with the John Taylor Gibb collection, and thus perhaps we could assume that the whole album was produced by John Taylor Gibb.
